Simply stated, Shockpad provides simple remote control buttons for a smartphone, in a highly ruggedized package.
Existing products do provide elements of this functionality. Many headphones contain in-line controls for volume up/down, play/pause, and perhaps even skip forward/back. Many Bluetooth hands-free devices provide a button to answer a call. But, as is the present trend in tech, these controls are all very sleek and small.
Suppose you want to skip to the next track while snowboarding, or adjust volume while motorcycling, or answer an incoming call while wearing greasy work gloves.
Shockpad provides control buttons for individuals in harsh environment, engaged in active pursuits.
Ideally, Shockpad should survive being dropped in water, dropped on the floor, stepped on, run over, and thrown against the room.
It should have a long battery life, a simple interface, and the buttons should be individually accessible with mittens/gloves; the buttons should be distinguishable with little/no visual feedback. Here are some visual cues.
